A key economic hub

Founded in 1999, Tangier's Free Trade Zone is the most important business hub in the region. Computer engineering,automotive andaeronautic sectors, textile, mechanics, training, ...475 companies of all sizes boosted by foreign investment from the European Union, United States of America, North Africa and the Middle East have generated more than thirty different activities. Moreover, Tangier's Free Trade Zone, managed by TFZ (Tanger Free Zone) and being a subsidiary of the group TMSA, offers very attractive tax benefits.

The industrial vocation of this hub being clearly established, Tangier's Free Trade Zone (TFZ) has always prohibited polluting industries to settle. Alongside companies that are established since its creation, the industrial area regularly hosts  new businesses that are attracted by its dynamics, positioning and opportunities.

Around TFZ, which comprises more than 500 hectares, an entire area of about 60 hectares will be dedicated to the automobile industry , and managed by Tanger Automotive City ( still under construction) , which will accompany the development of the Renault factory in Melloussa. This hub will be complementary to the network of industrial and free trade zones of the region that also includes the two port logistics areas of Tanger Med. All are within 30 minutes of Tanger Med Port, a direct platform to Europe that is located on the south shore of the Strait of Gibraltar.

By road, Tangier Free Zone (TFZ) is directly accessible on the highway connecting to the boarding area of Tanger Med Port and to the road network linking Tangier to other major cities in the Kingdom.
